Welcome to Monday Mail!
From the Principal
Greetings,

Happy Monday! Final Exams begin this week. See the information below for a detailed schedule. It is very important that each student completes a final exam for each of their six classes. Each test will have a 24-hour window where the assessment is open for students to access at their convenience. Once accessed, students will have 90 minutes to complete the assessment. There will also be opportunities for make-up exams should it be needed.

Next week will begin the process for students to pick up and drop off belongings. The schedule and details are located HERE. We look forward to seeing everyone next week during this drive through process. Please pay attention to the specific instructions to ensure a smooth experience.

There are a few yearbooks remaining. If you're interested, please purchase them today at this link. These will be distributed as a part of the pick-up plan next week.

Our building remains closed to visitors at this time, however, we are present to address your needs via telephone at 770-921-2705. Please call daily 9am-4pm.

As we close out this week, I would like to take a moment to say "thank you" to our wonderful PTSA for their continued support. Last Friday they provided a drive-thru lunch pick up as a part of Teacher Appreciation Week for our staff and this week they are delivering something special for our 8th grade students as they finish out middle school. This support is one of the many reasons this is the Greatest Middle School in the Nation!
Final Exams will be given
starting this week through May 18th

The schedule will be as follows:
May 11 - Language Arts
May 12 - Science
May 13 - Social Studies
May 14 - Math
May 15 - A Connection
May 18 - B Connection

Need to pick up or drop off items at TMS?
As part of the process of closing out the school year, we want to provide students an opportunity to collect their personal items left behind when schools closed in March and to collect additional items like yearbooks. Additionally, many students have school-owned items (library books, textbooks, chromebooks, instruments, etc.) which need to be returned as school ends. Attached within the link below is the detailed plan for this pick up and return process. Please review the process, arrive during your child's reserved time (or one of the make-up times), follow the signs, and remain in your car. Our plan has been created to provide safety for you, your child, and school personnel while still allowing us to complete this process to close out our school year.

We hope that you and your family are well, and want to thank you for helping make the end of this school year a success.

Summer Health and PE at Parkview
Does your student need to free up his or her high school schedule to allow for band, theater, chorus, strings, or athletics? If you answered yes, then you should consider allowing your student to take Health and Personal Fitness (PE) during the summer of 2020 through the Parkview Community School located at Parkview High School. These courses will still be offered this summer in an online fashion.
Going to high school next year and interested in color guard?

Colorguard at Parkview is a co-ed activity and any student interested in participating is invited to register. No previous experience is required, but a willingness to learn new things is!

A parent meeting will be held at a future date in May. We understand that the end of the school year has been very different for everyone, so we have adjusted the 8th-grade Colorguard Registration and Audition Schedule for this year:

Registration for 8th-grade students began May 1st
Registration deadline with $150 deposit due May 31st (required for uniform fitting)
Auditions for Colorguard will take place during June (or the first scheduled rehearsal, if delayed by outside circumstances)
