Welcome to Monday Mail!
From the Principal
Greetings,

Happy May! This is the final week of instruction as final exams begin next Monday. See the information below for a detailed schedule. It is very important that each student completes a final exam for each of their six classes. Each test will have a 24-hour window where the assessment is open for students to access at their convenience. Once accessed, students will have 90 minutes to complete the assessment. Each day after the exam will be spent on remediation, reassessment and redoing work to ensure that all students master the content. There will also be opportunities for make-up exams should it be needed.

This also begins a special week as this is Teacher Appreciation Week. We like to pause each year to say "Thank You" to our teachers because of the enormous impact they have on our school, our community and our nation. However, this year I think it is especially important to stop and tell the teachers of Trickum a very special thank you. This year more than any I think the awesomeness of our teachers has shone bright. Please take a moment, and encourage your students to take a moment, to send their teachers a personal "thank you" note. I'm certain it would mean the world to them.

GCPS published information regarding preliminary plans for students to pick up and drop off items as the school year comes to a close in their weekly Digital Learning Update. As stated, each school will share detailed plans for creating a drive-through process during the weeks of May 18th and 25th. Please look for that plan right here in Monday Mail next week. This plan will be a one-stop drive through process which will allow students to drop off items (library books, textbooks, school technology, instruments, etc.) and pick up items (yearbooks, locker contents, medication, instruments, etc.) in the bus lane without ever leaving the car. Please look out for this plan next week.

Our building remains closed to visitors at this time, however, we are present to address your needs via telephone at 770-921-2705. Please call daily 9-4.
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to all of our teachers! Thank you for all that you do! We appreciate you!

Summer Health and PE at Parkview
Does your student need to free up his or her high school schedule to allow for band, theater, chorus, strings, or athletics? If you answered yes, then you should consider allowing your student to take Health and Personal Fitness (PE) during the summer of 2020 through the Parkview Community School located at Parkview High School. These courses will still be offered this summer in an online fashion.
Going to high school next year and interested in color guard?

Colorguard at Parkview is a co-ed activity and any student interested in participating is invited to register. No previous experience is required, but a willingness to learn new things is!
