HISTORY OF RECRUIT WISCONSIN
|
|
Starting in late April 2020, the Wisconsin Basketball Club Directors banded together to support and encourage each other while navigating the unprecedented challenges brought on during the pandemic. We called our group of basketball directors Wisconsin Sports Coalition.
When Wisconsin small businesses were "shut down" and labeled non-essential it negatively impacted every single one of the WSC clubs. From the highest levels of state government, the topic of youth and sports was not addressed, and the industry was left in the dark.
The shut down caused some of our businesses to completely close their doors all together, while others disbanded certain teams due to lack of practice facilities across the state.
We know the positive impact sports and athletic activities have on the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of athletes, and knew then how important it was to continue providing these activities in our local communities and state.
After we, WSC, gained a footing during the shut down, we applied our research to our work, infused guidance from State Legislators and the American Athletic Union (AAU), and created protocols from scientific data and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control to reboot sports. From this work, the WSC created the
Wisconsin SMART Start
plan to safely bring sports back to the community.
The
Wisconsin SMART Start Plan
and
Recruit Wisconsin
is our response and cure to the coronavirus. This SMART Start plan was created for and dedicated to all High School, College, and Professional Sports teams, Athletic Directors, School Superintendents, Event Directors, Venue Operators, and Small Businesses as an avenue to help us bring sports back to our world.
We stand in unity, providing the way for athletes to stay healthy, take back control of their lives, and see all their hard work and dreams become reality.
Your participation in
Recruit Wisconsin
is greatly appreciated and we always pray for your safety, joy, and the security of you and your family.
Let the Games Begin!
