River Action Day along the Chicago River

On August 27th, Chicago STEM Academy alumnae worked with Friends of the Chicago River and employees from Exelon and ComEd on clean-up activities around the Chicago River.

Learn about the science behind the things in nature that may scare you but serve an important role in their environment. Upcoming events near Baltimore/Washington D.C. Oct. 11 - Nov. 10 - Maryland STEM Festival A month-long celebration of STEM with events focused on interactive science and learning. Nov. 1 - Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program (SEAP) Applications open for the SEAP program, which is a direct mentor-student relationship between Department of Defense scientists and talented high school seniors.

Upcoming events near Chicago Sept. 25 - Adler Planetarium's 'Scopes in the City - Chinatown Library. Adler astronomers and staff lead free telescope observing programs in Chicago neighborhoods. Oct. 19 - STEMfest at NIU. Northern Illinois University STEM departments and other reputable groups present hundreds of activities to celebrate innovations in STEM.
