Wallingford Library Welcomes New Director

Wallingford Library recently hired Sunnie Scarpa, who previously served as the children's section librarian in Wallingford for six remarkable years, and is now at the helm as the library's new director.

Scarpa's journey has been an inspiring one, taking her from Wallingford to the E.C. Scranton Memorial Library in Madison, where she held the position of library director. Despite the challenges faced during her tenure, including a library renovation coinciding with the pandemic, Scarpa's dedication to her craft never wavered.

Now, with a wealth of experience under her belt, this Massachusetts native, who earned her master's in library science at Southern Connecticut State University, has returned to Wallingford, driven by her passion for books, people, and organization. Scarpa's transition to library administration allows her to make a profound impact on the community, ensuring that the library serves as a pillar of knowledge and support for the town.
