2021 Education to Employment Events
|
|
In term 4 of 2020, our team reached out to secondary schools and industry for feedback on some key areas of vocational education. We wanted to know how best to support schools and industry to drive industry awareness, provide opportunities, and support young people's transition into desired career pathways.
From this valuable feedback, and with industry and secondary schools' support across Tai Tokerau, we’ve developed a series of diverse events and activities for 2021.
Tai Tokerau Trades Training is proud to present the following events to support Education to Employment transition in collaboration with key stakeholders.

|
|
Tai Tokerau Trades Training has teamed up with GoHort and DairyNZ to develop two Ag 'n' Hort Hop tours across Northland. The Ag 'n' Hort Hop is a one-day tour exploring the variety of opportunities within our sustainable food production industries.
On the day, secondary school students will travel to an agriculture and horticulture location to explore the workplace and engage in industry-related activities while talking directly to industry specialists.
If you have secondary school students, 16 & over, interested in science, agriculture, horticulture, environmental studies or technology, this is the event to unearth!
Places are limited, so be sure to register your students today on a tour near you. Click the tour links below.
Many thanks to GoHort and DairyNZ to provide student transportation, organise industry venues, and arrange specialists for each event.

The e2e group will be rerunning this event on Friday 4 June 2021, 9.30am – 2.00pm, at Okaihau College.
This event is not just for Careers Advisors or Gateway Coordinators - it is for ALL teachers. The more teachers who attend the greater the outcomes for our ākonga, with increased awareness and understanding of careers.
We encourage you to consider supporting a teacher only day for your school and hope that your whole staff team will be able to attend. We have some funds available to assist with travel if required.
If you have any questions or queries, or requests on specific industries you would like to see there, please do not hesitate to get in contact with Jessica Kean.
