Tai Tokerau Trades Training Updates
Welcome to Term 3, 2020
Our thoughts are with those who were impacted by the wild weather the weekend before the term started.

We extend our gratitude to Northland's emergency and civil defense services who supported those severely affected by the floods. Many thanks to the hardworking tradies and skilled workers who repaired (and continue to repair) the infrastructure issues that resulted from the significant flooding.
During the term break, our team has been supporting the planning of innovative school events and activities to motivate young people towards many great career opportunities. If you would like support with your events or activities, please feel free to contact your Vocational Coordinator.
Expanding our team bubble
Tai Tokerau Trades Training is proud to announce that we have extended our team bubble and would like to introduce our newest team member.

A warm welcome to Alice Furrell, our Project Administrator, whom you will meet very soon, Alice will be supporting our Vocational Coordinators to support our Education to Employment Brokerage service.

Vocational Pathway Presentation
Our Vocational Coordinators have been busy increasing industry awareness by engaging and presenting to learners the many career pathways, tertiary training, and why the subject selection is incredibly important.
The team incorporates innovative methods, such as TikTok and Instagram inspired presentations, to connect and promote career awareness through the language of our young people today. Check out our TikTok video from the Year 13 students from Te Kāpehu Whetū presenting their future career interests.

Automotive Careers Bus Tours 2020
Do you have young people interested in Automotive!

MITO, with the support of the Ministry of Education, is hosting ten Automotive Careers Bus Tours and invite secondary schools to register their interest.

Women in Infrastructure New Zealand
Our team attended the Northland Chapter of the Women's Infrastructure Network (WIN) panel event last month. The event focused on 'Growing Regions Post-COVID, Supporting Local & Building Strong' in which Tai Tokerau Trades Training aspires to collaborate with industries to support young people transition into significant career pathways for our region. Roimata Haika and Maea Pivac were able to outline the EEB service and a number of organisations expressed interest. We hope to follow these contracts up soon.
