California may get $45.5 billion from this new bill. The legislation reserves at least $25 million per year for “small and disadvantaged communities.”
Bloomberg City Lab Cites WeTap.org
Public water fountains have a storied legacy and the worldwide push for free public fountains is backed by health advocates, environmentalists, and city planners alike. Low-income families needlessly spend much of their income purchasing single-use bottled water for drinking and cooking. Changing this behavior improves their health and saves money.
