First off, thank you for an AMAZING 2018 Tour! We also want to thank those of you who took the time to complete the Tour Player and Equipment surveys. The results of these surveys help us to improve the Tour and to communicate with current and future Tour Partners. 

As the subject line of this email indicates, we hope you are able to join us ON TOUR for the 2019 season - The GTA AM Tour's 16th year!

 

REGISTER NOW!
If you would like to register for the 2019 Tour, for a registration fee of $125 (plus HST), please visit The Tour's website, log in and, from your Player Dashboard, hit the Register for the 2019 season button (If you have forgotten your password please use the "Forgot Password" feature on the home page). 

 

To help improve access to events, when registering for events, players will be charged a per-event non-refundable deposit of $20 (Plus HST). The event reminder email will continue to be sent (to registered players) four weeks prior to each event. Credit cards will be billed (for the balance of the event fee) three weeks prior to each event. Out of respect for your fellow players, please only register for events in which you plan to compete.

Those who register early (prior to January 31, 2019) will receive a ballot for a draw for a TaylorMade Golf Makeover. This player will receive a FULL fitting and a brand new TaylorMade driver...! 

 

WAITING LIST ===> NOTIFY ME

When an event reaches capacity, players will be given an option to be notified if a spot opens up. When a spot opens up, at any given time, ALL players on the Notify Me list will be sent an email. Available spot(s) will be filled on a first to register basis.

 

COMMITMENT TO EDUCATING THE COMMUNITY

After registering for the 2019 Tour, and before registering for their first event, players will be directed to an online evaluation that will educate them about Pace of Play, Course Care and Handicapping. Those achieving 100% on this evaluation will receive a draw ballot for a round of golf at Coppinwood Golf Club. Answers to ALL of the questions can be found on The Tour's website. 

 

2019 GTA AM TOUR SCHEDULE

As you can see, we have been VERY busy booking clubs! We are very fortunate to have 96% of the 2019 Tour schedule hosted by the following Private Clubs: Coppinwood, Scarboro, Lookout Point, Cherry Hill, Devil's Paintbrush, MAJOR TBA, Credit Valley, Barrie, Kawartha, Wildfire, Brantford, Brampton, MAJOR TBA, Ladies Golf Club of Toronto, Devil's Pulpit, Whitevale, Granite, Oshawa, Grandview (Major), Cedar Brae, Thornhill, Beverly, Georgian Bay,  Devil's Pulpit  , Summit , The Briars , Mad River , Bigwin Island and  Maple Downs .

 

To this VERY strong roster of private golf courses, we will be hosting the 2019 Air Canada Rouge Tour Championship at  Grand Niagara .

 

SENIORS' FORMAT

Players competing in the Seniors' Flight will once again do so in a Net Stableford format. This point system sees players receiving one point for a net bogey, two points for a net par, three points for a net birdie, four points for a net eagle and five points for a net double eagle. The player with the highest points accumulated will win the event. Ties will be resolved as per The Tour's card matching protocol on a net score basis. 

 

2019 AIR CANADA ROUGE TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2019 Air Canada Rouge Tour Championship will be held at Grand Niagara Golf Club on Sunday October 6th and Monday October 7th. This two day (18 holes per day) event is open to all who wish to compete. In order to be eligible for Order of Merit Points and prizing in this event, players must have played at least five 2019 GTA AM Tour rounds. The event fee includes daily use of a golf cart and an AMAZING banquet dinner on the Sunday evening. For those of you who have not yet had an opportunity to play this course, we strongly suggest you add this to your MUST play list!

 

2019 MAJOR EVENTS

The Tour will hold three Majors during the summer of 2019! At this time, we can confirm that the August, Muskoka Major will take place at Grandview Golf Club in Huntsville. The other two Major Tournaments will be announced shortly. 

 

SPONSOR GIFT BAG

The first 450 players to register for the 2019 GTA AM Tour will, once again, receive a Sponsors' gift package. We are working with current and new Sponsors to add new and cool items to this package. 

 

WOMEN ON TOUR

There are two ways women can compete on Tour: 

1. Women can play in one of the competitive Flights (CH, A, B, or C). So that women can compete equitably in these Flights, six strokes will be added to a woman's Handicap Factor to be correctly flighted. 

2. Women can play in the Recreational Flight 

 

VIRTUAL NET MATCH PLAY

The Tour will once again host the Virtual Net Match Play competition. There will be a maximum of 64 spots available. The VNMP competitions will take place at the following Tour venues:

1) Devil's Paintbrush

2) Brampton Golf Club

3) Whitevale Golf Club

4) The Thornhill Club

5) Championship Day - TBA

 

PRIZING

As you know, Air Canada, TaylorMade and Mill Street Brewery provided The Tour with per event prizing in 2018. We are currently working to renew existing prizing Sponsors and  working to procure new prizing sponsors. Many Tour players, sponsors and team members have kindly connected us with potential sponsors. If you know anyone who may be interested, in working with this wonderful community of passionate, dedicated and engaged golfers, please let me know.

For those of you who won a TaylorMade Gift Card in 2018, please know that the expiry date, to place your order, is December 31, 2018. 

 

TOUR PATRON SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Last year was the sixth year for the Patron Sponsorship Opportunity. A number of players took advantage of the opportunity to play 20 Tour rounds of golf as a legitimate business expense, through this program.

 

In addition to 20 rounds of Tour golf, and a waiving of the Tour registration fee, Patron Sponsors will receive the following:

1) Their corporate logo on The Tour's website, along with a link to their company's website

2) An end of season "Patrons of The Tour" day of golf at Coppinwood Golf Club.

The price of the Patron Sponsorship is $4,250 (plus HST). There will be a maximum of 15 Patron Sponsor spots, available on a first booked basis. If you are interested in becoming a Patron Sponsor, please call me at the number below.

 

REFERRAL PROGRAM

If you know of anyone interested in signing up for the Tour, please have them visit the "Join The Tour" section of the website. Once again, this year, we will be providing Tour players who refer a new player (After the referred player plays at least two 2019 events) with either a case of Mill Street beer or a $50 TaylorMade gift card. We will also be conducting draws for rounds of golf at Coppinwood, for those of you who refer friends and family members to The Tour. Please ensure your friends record you (on the Join Now page) as the person who referred them.
