Introducing:

THE NEXT CHAPTER

Welcome to the first The Next Chapter Newsletter – your go-to source for updates on the Walla Walla Public Library renovation!

Thank you for being one of the champions helping to bring The Next Chapter to life. Because of your generosity, encouragement, and belief in this vision, Walla Walla is closer than ever to a modern, vibrant and welcoming public library that will serve our community for generations to come. We’re so grateful to have you with us on this journey.

Campaign Update:

Momentum is Building!

The energy and excitement behind this campaign continues to grow, and we have so much to celebrate. Thanks to the incredible success of the Valley Giving Guide we raised over $126,000, surpassing our goal because this community showed up in a big way.

We’re also thrilled to share that we recently received a $30,000 grant from the Wildhorse Foundation. Each new investment helps us turn the page towards a brighter future, and we’re deeply grateful for all the momentum.

Project Update: We’re Spring Cleaning for Our Temporary Move!

Excitement is building as we remain on track to break ground this spring! Each step brings us closer to a transformed library designed to better serve Walla Walla with welcoming, flexible spaces for learning, gathering, and connection.

The library staff is working hard to prepare for moving the library into our temporary location during construction. You may notice that some books and other materials in the library are being shifted as we begin the process to sort, store and move the collection. The last day the current library will be open is April 4th, and the temporary location will open the week of April 20th at 115 W. Main St. in Walla Walla.

What's New: You're Invited to the Library Send-Off Party!

Join us on April 18th to celebrate the library before the renovations begin. Come gather with us and enjoy:

  • Music, food, and celebration with friends
  • Send-off story time at 10:30am
  • Writing a message on the library wall for any donation amount
  • Surplus sale of furniture and fixtures

Looking Ahead

As we move closer to breaking ground, we’re filled with gratitude for everyone helping write this next chapter. This campaign is about more than a building—it’s about creating a bright, welcoming place where our community can gather, learn, and grow for generations to come.

Thank you for being part of this exciting moment for Walla Walla. We can’t wait to keep sharing progress with you in the months ahead.
