Bring Your Building to Life

Our church buildings weren’t built to sit empty most of the week—they were meant to be places filled with life, connection, and purpose beyond just Sunday mornings.

If your parish has rooms, halls, or even just a few hours of unused space, consider offering it to someone who needs it. Whether it's a local daycare, a yoga class, a support group, or a community choir, your space could be exactly what they're looking for—and it could generate revenue for your parish at the same time.

The Diocese regularly receives inquiries from people looking for church space to rent. But we can’t refer them to you if we don’t know your space is available!

If you’d like your church included on our list of potential rental locations, please reach out to Pam in Property.

To get started, send us the following details:

  • Church address
  • Main intersection
  • Description of available space
  • Amenities (e.g. kitchen, washrooms, parking, accessibility)
  • Available date(s) for occupancy
  • Contact person’s name and information

If you’re not sure where to start or need help figuring out how your space could be used, we’re here to help. Let’s work together to breathe new life into our buildings—and into the communities we serve.

By Mac Morreau on April 30, 2025

Let’s begin with a simple truth: our buildings don’t just house ministry and mission – they’re an essential part of them. They hold our stories, reflect our values, and stand as a witness to our faith.

Across the Diocese of Toronto, something is quietly shifting. Property is no longer seen as a burden or a backdrop, but as an active partner in the work God is calling us to do. It’s not just about how we care for our spaces — it’s about how we reimagine them as faithful, future-facing expressions of our shared mission.

Beyond the Bricks is part of our new communications strategy built to reflect that shift. This column is here to share what’s unfolding, highlight what’s working, and open new channels between you, our Property Resources team, and the communities we serve. Because this isn’t about “reporting” or “complying” – it’s about walking alongside.
