Below, you will see a reminder of our philosophy and format for our Youth Recreational Leagues
THE i9 SPORTS LEAGUE FORMAT
LEAGUE FORMAT

i9 Sports is a Recreational Youth Sports Program. Our leagues are designed to be a fun, pressure-free and sportsmanship-driven experience for your young athlete. Your child is placed on a team with a volunteer coach (A parent of one of the players) where they will have a convenient, one day per week experience.
  • Each team will have their practice followed immediately by their games over a 7 week span.
  • This is a 7 week league
  • Your first day of the season is what we call "Jamboree Day"
  • March 2nd for Saturday Leagues
  • March 3rd for Sunday Leagues)
  • On Jamboree Day, your practice will be followed by a scrimmage where scores and stats will not be held.
  • This is an opportunity for your players to get used to the sport and the coaches to get to know the team without the pressure of a "real" game!
  • Weeks 2 through 6 will be the "Regular Season" games.
  • Practice will be followed by an official i9 Sports Game
  • *Super Pee Wee Games (ages 3-4) will not keep score for the regular season.
  • Week 7 Will be the closing day of the season and the team will have their opponents determined based on the regular season performances
  • *Super Pee Wee Teams will have a predetermined opponent

WEATHER DELAYS & POSTPONEMENTS

  • Most of our Spring Leagues take place outdoors.
  • That means we will sometimes have issues with rain and/or field condition issues.
  • If weather prohibits play or field conditions are unusable, the season will be extended to make up any missed practices and games.
  • i9 Sports always reserves a minimum of 2 extra weeks in the league schedule in case we experience multiple postponements during the season.

GAMEDAY EQUIPMENT

  • Your child will receive their jersey from their coach on Jamboree Day.
  • If you ordered optional shorts or other equipment or apparel from the online store, they will be delivered to your directly to your home.
  • i9 Sports does not provide Mouth Guards or Shin Guards, but they will be available for purchase at the fields.
  • Close-Toed athletic shoes or cleats are mandatory
  • metal cleats are not allowed
  • NO flip flops, crocs, sandals, open toed, or any non-athletic shoe will be allowed.
WHO WILL COACH YOUR KID?
VOLUNTEER COACHES
As mentioned above, all of our teams are coached by wonderful parents who set their time aside to be a volunteer coach. All coaches are required to fill out a volunteer application and undergo a background check

  • A pre-season coach meeting to learn about our philosophy and learn about the Coach Dashboard on their i9sports.com account

SPORTSMANSHIP & THE i9 SPORTS PHILOSOHY
WEEKLY SPORTSMANSHIP AWARDS

i9 Sports is a sportsmanship-driven league. Each week, coaches will be given medals to hand out to the players that best show different sportsmanship values throughout the season. Each player on every team will have an opportunity to earn a sportsmanship medal.

PARENTS AND COACHES

Parents and Coaches are also expected to show sportsmanship on the fields.

Please familiarize yourself with the i9 Sports Parental Pledge Below:

"I, the parent or guardian of an i9 Sports team player, agree that the most important outcome of any game is for my child to have fun. My child needs my approval and support, regardless of what happens in the game.

I will refrain from the use of negative or derogatory language aimed at the Officials, the Coaches, my child, or other players.

I will encourage my child and all others in the game and will let the coach be the coach.

I will do my best to model the sportsmanship-like behavior I wish my child to adopt, and to support the coach in making this the best possible experience for my child."
