Week 3
Welcome Back to Tree School!

Thank you for exploring the outdoors with your young ones!

This is the third of seven weekly emails packed with nature-based activities for your PreK-5th grader! They come from Project Learning Tree and other environmental education resources.
This week, we will learn about how trees grow.

We recommend spending an hour or more every day with your children
in your backyard or in your local town or state park.

Did you miss last week's email? Visit the Tree School Archive for the previous Tree School activities. For more fun activities, check out the DEEP Family Resource Page.

Please continue to use social distancing.
Have fun and stay safe outdoors!
Watch Me Grow
1.      Collect seeds ( recoger semillas). Then, make
your own seeds out of recycled or craft
materials. Watch the videos below and make a
seed that:
Floats (flotadora) : does it float in the tub?
Attaches (adjuntar) : will it stick to the dog?
Catches A Breeze (tomar el viento): try a fan!
Flies (volar): when dropped from a distance?

2.      Act out the life cycle of a tree ( ciclo de vida del arbol)

3.      Watch a seed grow using a simple experiment
( como crecen las plantas). Use newspaper to
make your own seed pots (ollas).

4.      Observe buds as they become new leaves
