Hello!

We are delighted that you have chosen to make Wake your new home! Your residential community will be a core part of your experience here and we would like to share some important information to prepare you for arrival.

Transfer Student Move-In

We look forward to welcoming you to campus on Wednesday, August 17. As you plan for the day, remember the following:

  • PRIOR TO COMING TO CAMPUS, students will check in at the Lawrence Joel Memorial Veterans Coliseum (LJVM, aka The Joel), at 2825 University Parkway, Winston Salem, NC 27105 no earlier than 15 minutes prior to their move-in time (see below).
  • Check-In will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. however Move-In Assistance will only be available from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • If you plan to arrive after 5 p.m. on any of these days, please let our office know by completing this After Hours Arrival form.
  • In order to best manage traffic flow, we encourage new students, and those traveling with them, to enter campus via University Parkway or Reynolda Road.
  • As you plan, feel free to refer to the University's maps page.

If you are participating in a pre-orientation program or another early arrival group, you should have already received instructions on when and where to check-in. If not, please contact us at [email protected].

Preparing To Live In Community

Once you arrive on campus, you will have the opportunity to complete a roommate agreement. We encourage you to begin thinking about what you expect in regards to your room and roommate relationship now, so that once you are on campus that conversation is more productive.

For more on expectations surrounding living in community at Wake Forest, please take time to review the Guide to Community Living and Student Handbook.
