Tribal Entrepreneur Symposium

August 21, 2025

CT APEX Accelerator was thrilled to collaborate with Wondr Nation and Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation their Tribal Entrepreneur Symposium. This is a new and exciting partnership that brought incredible opportunities to our community.

This free event at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center was packed with valuable insights and networking for entrepreneurs at every stage.

Our CT APEX team led a session on Government Contracting Readiness. And we were honored to have a special panel on “Doing Business with Tribal Government,” which was led by our state director, Marisol Herrera, and highlighted the new avenues for growth created by this collaboration.

The event wrapped up with a fantastic networking reception and resource fair, where it was inspiring to see so many local business owners connect and expand their networks!

Due to the overwhelming demand and positive feedback, we are excited to announce that we will be holding more "Doing Business with Tribal Government" trainings in 2026. Stay tuned for details!

Our synergy with the CT DAS Procurement team is focused on one thing: making state government contracting more accessible for CT businesses.

DAS champions supplier diversity through its crucial S/MBE Certification program and tools like CTGateway that streamline the path to state opportunities.

Did you know CT APEX Accelerator helps eligible Connecticut businesses navigate the application process for federal certifications like #8a Business Development and #WOSB?

These certifications are essential tools that level the playing field and open doors to exclusive government contract opportunities.

This is one reason why our partnership with the SBA CT District Office is so important!

Connecticut's APEX Accelerator program wouldn't be possible without our incredible host, seCTer: Southeastern CT Enterprise Region!

While seCTer drives regional planning and local economic initiatives—like the seCTerRise grant program—their commitment to small business growth is felt statewide through their support of CT APEX Accelerator.

As our host, seCTer ensures that every Connecticut business has free access to experts who specialize in Government Contracting.

Our relationship with the Connecticut Small Business Development Center (SBDC) ensures Connecticut businesses receive complete support at every stage:

CT SBDC focuses on the establishment and growth of your business, providing no-cost advising on business plans, financial analysis, and crucial assistance with access to capital.

CT APEX is your expansion expert once your business is solid, we step in to focus on Government Contracting Readiness, helping you compete effectively for federal, state, and local contracts.
