Listen & Learn Lunch
We are launching our storytelling series the Listen & Learn Lunch with a series of videos soon. In light of recent events, we felt the need to offer a place for people to tell their stories who may not normally have a chance to. Our first series features people from the St Benedict the Moor parish talking about what it means to be a black Catholic in Omaha. 
Someday we hope to open up the Chapel for you to come with your lunch to listen and learn in person, but for now enjoy these videos of our storytellers with your lunch at home.

We are starting our blog this week! Our first entry is by our Director, Lori Tatreau, writing more about our Listen & Learn Lunch series of stories.
Watch for at least monthly entries from folks in and around our building as well as partners and others we think you should know.
New Pump Organ
We are excited about the donation of this beautiful pump organ this week. It was made in the late 1880's, so it is the same era as our building. We think it fits right in and sounds great! Keep this in mind for future music projects!

Ongoing Programs
The Sack Lunch Program
We continue to offer around 200 sack lunches at the door and on the street with our van deliveries in east Omaha. Times are very difficult for those on the street and we are grateful to be offering more fruits and vegetables every day.
The Closet Door
The Door Ministry is now called The Closet Door. People in need can still come to get clothing and some personal care items at least four mornings per week. We have served over 150 people in the last month alone!
The reality of our block is that many people come here who have nothing and nowhere to go. We do our best to help as we can.
We are working on wish lists for you to help us provide things they need every week but one permanent thing we would like to provide is a water fountain outside. Contact us if you would be interested in helping make this happen.
The Churchyard Community Garden
The Churchyard has been feeding lots of people this summer. In addition to our 20 regular plots, three large plots have been feeding five families consisting of 30 people!
Our new sign is up and we are at the height of harvest season!
How You Can Help
Building Renovations

We have cleaned out years worth of extra stuff and dirt as we prepare for major building improvements. Flooring, security, HVAC, new stairs, and ADA bathrooms are all top of the list. This will require a Capital Campaign for our historic site in the near future, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, we can always use volunteers to make lunches, do cleaning and organizing projects, help hand out clothes, drive our vans, and more.
Who We Are
Lori Tatreau is the Director of the Holy Family Community Center and helping to develop new programs, find funding, and grow partnerships. She has an MFA and an MPA and is thrilled with the opportunity to be here.
Bruce Noble is the Director of Holy Family Ministries, which includes the Churchyard Garden, the Sack Lunch Program and the Closet Door (formerly Door Ministry). He is also our videographer extraordinaire and all around go-to-guy for anything that comes up around here.
