You may have heard that Wonderspring utilizes The Creative Curriculum® at all our centers to help our children become creative, confident thinkers. But you may not really know what that means. The Creative Curriculum® is a comprehensive research-based, collection of knowledge building resources that provides teachers with the tools to support every type of learner and address all the important areas of learning. It offers children numerous opportunities for hands-on exploration and discovery that help build lifelong critical-thinking skills and foster confidence.
The curriculum is study-based and features hands-on, investigations of topics that are relevant to children’s everyday experiences such as Trees, Clothing, Balls, Buildings and Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Studies are exciting and engaging ways to tap into children’s natural curiosity, resulting in learning that is both fun and intentional. Children raise questions about the topic, and through exploration and discovery, they find answers to their questions. This approach not only offers a wide variety of ways to learn about a topic, it also encourages children to develop skills across all domains as they apply the investigative process. So as your child investigates trees, they may develop math skills by counting leaves, STEM skills by planting seeds and literacy skills by reading stories featuring trees. Keep an eye on our social media as we often post pictures of the children engaged in fun activities related to these studies.
