Good morning, Big Red Marching Band members!

It’s a fantastic day on the Hill [Happy July 4th!!] and I am so excited to get to update you on the 2023 Season of the BRMB - The Pride of the Hilltoppers! I hope this email finds you healthy, safe, and having the best summer you can possibly have.

If you are brand new to the BRMB - Welcome!! You have made what will be one of the best decisions of your life, joining a collegiate marching band. If you are a returning member, Welcome Back - I can’t wait to see you again!  

This season is shaping up to be an exciting one with entertaining shows, plans for local and not-so-local exhibitions, and loud cheers for our Hilltoppers!

Click below to read this year's Big Red Marching Band Preseason Press. It contains information about the upcoming season and should answer many questions that you have about band camp. This is not the band handbook; you’ll get that later. Read over this information and it will give you an idea about what to expect this season. If you haven’t already marked your calendars, PreSeason Band Camp will begin on Saturday, August 12 and will continue through our post-camp performance on Saturday, August 19. Percussion, Colorguard, and Leadership report times are a little different and are listed in this document. Don’t forget to request your early-move in! You must be registered for MUS347 - Marching Band for approval. If you aren’t able to register yet, please let me know so I can add your name to the housing approval list.

If you have successfully signed up for the MUS347 Marching Band Class, now we need to start gathering information for the upcoming season. When you get a moment, please click on the links below to fill out these important forms.

FORM #1 - BRMB Member Information Form

This form is a student information form. It asks for basic contact information and instrument. Yes, some of it is repetitious to information you have filled out on the intent forms, but this keeps us up to date on your information if any changes have occurred. Be sure to follow the instructions so that everything is as accurate as possible. If you could have this form completed by Saturday, July 29, that would be fantastic! This will lock in your spot in pregame and the halftime drill. If you want to take a few minutes to complete FORM 1 today, that would be even better.

FORM #2 - Uniform Sizing Form

The second form will be the Uniform Sizing Form. This confidential information will be put into the DeMoulin Uniform sizer to find your perfect uniform. Both new and returning members should fill out this form. You will probably need help with the sizes on the form, so find someone with a measuring tape that could help you. If you don’t have a flexible measuring tape, a string and ruler (or tape measure) will do the trick! The deadline for this form is also going to be Saturday, July 29. This will give our uniform crew time to get things in order before your arrival. How exciting — your uniform will be waiting for you at Preseason Camp registration!

FORM #3 - Medical Information Form

When we have long days together or when we travel, we need information to help keep you safe and well. This is also the form that lets us know what meal you prefer when traveling. Please take a moment to fill out the 2023 BRMB Med Form so your record is up-to-date.

*Before starting the form, find the information for an emergency contact that you would want us to notify in the case of an emergency. This form needs to be completed before you arrive at camp.
