Partner Spotlight: Moses Lake Museum & Art Center

On October 3, the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center in Grant County became the first organization to sign up as an America250 WA partner!

For America250, the museum is dedicating sixteen weeks in their main gallery for an in-house exhibition that will explore the theme "Finding ourselves in the American story." The exhibition will feature historic photographs from the collection, crowd-sourced memories and commentary from Moses Lakers, ephemera, and other objects. The theme will be "Finding ourselves in the American story."

There will also be a host of museum programming around the semiquincentennial, including history merchandise for the museum store. Several long-running events will have America250-related branding and themes. For example, the summer concert series run by museum staff will celebrate the variety and innovation of American music.

The Moses Lake Museum & Art Center is a program of the Moses Lake Parks & Recreation Department. Originally founded as the Adam East Museum in 1958, the museum is home to local history exhibits, a fine art gallery, museum store and a giant Columbian Mammoth metal sculpture.

The museum is housed in the Moses Lake Civic Center at 401 S Balsam St and is open Monday–Saturday. Admission is free.
