"I WON'T FORGET": A LUTHER LOVE STORY
Larry Studt '90 tells the story of his late wife, Rachel (Braaten) Studt '89, and the choral work he commissioned in her memory, “I Won’t Forget.” With music by Zachary L. Moore, it was performed in the Studts’ hometown, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, by the Nordic Choir and the Stand in the Light Memory Choir, on May 23, 2022.
KARLA (SYLLING) BLOEM '94 RAISES $220,000 FOR UKRAINIAN CHILDREN, USING THEIR ART
Bloem, the founder and executive director of the International Owl Center in Houston, Minnesota, has hosted a series of online auctions using artwork submitted by Ukrainian students to the center's annual international children's owl art competition. With all proceeds going to UNICEF to help the children of Ukraine, there are still two online auctions to go!

Annika Dome '22 and Soren Gloege '21 have been selected as Fulbright English Teaching Assistants to Germany for the 2022-23 academic year.

The scholarship, sponsored by Karen Julesberg '60, benefits first-generation and income-eligible Luther College students involved in the TRIO Achievement Program.

JOSHUA VORVICK '97 WINS APRIL 2022 BLUEBIRD GOLDEN PICK CONTEST
Raised in Oregon, refined in Missouri, and replanted in Iowa, Vorvick shares his craft in various styles, bringing an authentic voice to stories across the spectrum from the biographical and observed, to outright fiction. He won the April contest, sponsored by The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville and Taylor Guitars, with his song "Waitin' on the Rain."

NORWAY HOUSE COLLEGE CUP FUNDRAISING CHALLENGE
Based in Minneapolis, Norway House connects the US and contemporary Norway through arts, business, and culture. As part of their capital campaign, a fundraising challenge has launched among the alumni of Norwegian-American colleges in the Midwest. Gifts or pledges must be submitted before August 1, and must be designated as honoring Luther College.

“It is an honor to be named the CEIO at Luther College. I’m most excited about building upon the rich heritage of Luther College by developing innovative practices, policies, procedures, and programs utilizing best practices through an equity-mindedness lens that will help further the college’s mission."

Dr. Clay will oversee the Center for Intercultural Engagement and Support and will serve as a strategic partner and advisor to students, faculty, and staff on matters related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and community engagement.
NEW MEMBERS TO SERVE ON THE BOARD OF REGENTS
President Jenifer K. Ward has announced that Alessandro Raniolo '88, Leah Vriesman '88, and Liang Chee Wee will join the Luther College Board of Regents.
