*Rules and Regulations
· The only required categories for each contestant are Beauty and Patriotic Wear. For Beauty Competition the contestants wear a pageant dress or formal attire. For Patriotic wear, the contestants will “model” in their choice of patriotic attire. All Pageant Title Winners will receive a crown, trophy and sash. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd runner ups in each age division will receive a trophy.
· Participants will be judged on the following criteria: Beauty/Appearance, Stage Presence, Stage Personality, and Overall Impression. Each are 25% of the total score for Beauty and Patriotic Wear competition. Trophies will also be given to the highest score in each of the Majestic categories. Plus the highest scores of all competitions combined will be the overall Majestic Winners of each show and receive a Majestic Crown, Trophy and Sash.
· The scores for the Majestic Competitions (except for photogenic) are all taken from the Beauty Phase of Competition.
· The People’s choice Award will be voted online during the week prior to the pageant. The contestant with the most votes from ages 0-6, and 7 and up will win the People’s Choice Award, a round crown, trophy, sash and a $100 Gift Cerficate (UPDATED! This has increased!!! It used to be $50 and we have increased it to $100.... YAY!) to use toward any pageant affiliated with Dream Center Inc or Young Star Productions. The photo entry needs to be a head shot and does not have to be professional quality, but please make sure it’s a clear photo. This photo will be posted online and by submitting it you are giving your permission for the photo to be posted online. Only digital entries will be accepted. Submit the photo online at the same time that you submit your application at www.CumberlandCountyFairPageant.com or if you mail in your application, you can email your photo to dreamcenterinc@meixsellcorp.com no later than August 23, 2022.
· Parents and contestants are to conduct themselves in a good sportsmanship manner at all times before, during, and after the pageant. Inappropriate behavior, poor sportsmanship (in person or on social media), or failure to follow rules by contestants, parents or anyone in attendance, will not be tolerated and may result in the immediate disqualification of a participant or banned from future pageants with our pageant system as deemed necessary by the pageant staff for the integrity of the program. No refund of fees will be made in case of disqualification. We take this rule very seriously.
· The decision of the Judges is final.
· Parents and attendees are not allowed to discuss or approach the judges at any time during the Pageant.
· Only one parent is allowed into the dressing room per contestant.
· Free Admission for the contestant and for one chaperone is allowed for rehearsal and the pageant. All others must pay the admission price to enter the Cumberland County Fair.
· If a contestant is late for line up and misses a stage call, the contestant’s number will be called out again at the end of the group and a 3 point deduction will be given.
· Score sheets will be mailed after the pageant. Many pageants do not do this, this is just a perk that we offer, so please be patient. They are mailed to you by volunteers and they will get them to you as quickly as possible. However, it might take a couple weeks to get them organized and mailed out to everyone. Thank you for your patience.
· Photogenic: If you have entered the Majestic competition, please remember to bring your 8x10 or 8½x11 photo with you to the rehearsal. All Photogenic photos must be in by 7 PM on September 2, 2022. NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS DEADLINE. Also, please remember to pick up your photogenic pictures after the pageant. Photos left behind are not mailed. You may enter one additional photogenic photo for an additional $20. If you enter two photos, the highest score will be counted toward the competition. The rehearsal will take place at the same location as the pageant, the Crown Theater, at the Cumberland County Fair.
· A parent or guardian must be present at the rehearsal with any contestant ages birth – 18 years. Please do not bring extra children to the rehearsal that are not in the pageant. All children must be supervised at all times.
· In the Cumberland County Fair Pageant, everyone can be a winner by supporting a great cause. Each contestant that collects $75 or more for the Fisher House Foundation will receive a trophy, tiara, and a “Cumberland County Fair Princess” or “Cumberland County Fair Prince” sash. To count for this, the money must be turned in no later than August 23, 2022. Late entries will not be allowed and you cannot bring $ to the pageant rehearsal for this because would need more time to order the trophy, sash and tiara for any winners that meet the minimum donations.
Thank you for supporting a great cause!
You can still add to this by going to the pageant website and donating on behalf of any contestant.
· There will be a Patriotic Wear Winner for each show as well. However, this is already included for everyone to compete in this category and there is no extra charge. We will play a variety of upbeat patriotic music during this competition and the contestants can model free-style. Have fun and feel free to add glitz and sparkle if you’d like.
· We also request that all Age Division Kings and Queens and Majestic Queens and Kings wear your sash and crown on Sunday, September 4th, 2022 and join Ms. Pat and Ms. Donna in the lobby promptly at 3 pm for a photo shoot. Please wear either your Patriotic Wear attire from the pageant or any patriotic outfit of your choice along with your crown and sash. The Winner and one chaperone will be admitted for Free. All Winners under age 18 must have an adult chaperone in attendance with them.
· Rehearsal is on Friday, September 2nd at 5 pm for ages birth – 6 and at 7:00 pm for ages 7 and up. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to get processed and be ready for rehearsal at the starting time. We will have an opening number and you will want to attend the rehearsal to feel confident on stage, know your dressing room location and turn in your photogenic pictures.
· Location of Pageant: The Crown Theater, located in the Crown Complex, 1960 Coliseum Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28306. Please arrive early to make your way to the Crown Theater. This is a Fair Pageant, and you have to consider parking, lines, etc to get to the Theater.
· Frequently Asked Questions:
· Is make up okay in this pageant? Yes. This is a big stage with lots of lights.
· Can I bring my own music? No
· Can I use a prop? Only small handheld items are allowed such as purses, hats etc. during Patriotic Wear. We do not advise any props for Beauty Competition.
· Is it okay to have a glitzy outfit or dress? Yes, we are not an all natural pageant.
· My child has missing front teeth. Is this a problem? No
· Can you wear extra hair in this pageant? We do not have any rules against it, but it is not necessary. If your child truly benefits from it (not recommended babies), the choice is yours. However, we usually advise to makes sure the hair looks real and actually adds to the child, and that it does not take away.
· Can you wear lashes? Older contestants might want to wear them, but it's not necessary on the younger contestants.
· Do the boys compete against the girls? No, they have their own divisions.
· Is the Ms./Mrs. Category for ages 25 and up? Yes, but we divide the competition into ages 25-39, 40– 59 and 60+.
· What should the boys wear for the Beauty/Formal Competition? A nice suit or tuxedo is a great choice.
· Can you enter select Majestic Categories without entering them all? No, you cannot for this pageant. It’s all or nothing to keep the scoring simple for the judges and auditors. Thanks for understanding. However, you don’t have to do anything extra for the Majestic competition but bring your photo to the rehearsal so that we have it for the photogenic competition.
Can you still add Majestic Competitions? Yes, you can until August 23rd at midnight. Send your $60 payment by Paypal to donnameixsell@earthlink.net and text Donna at 9108560807 to let her know you have done this before the deadline!
