Good Catch Winner of the Month
Congrats, Michael!
Michael Barger and a co-worker were cutting pipe from the ceiling. Mike noticed that once the pipe was cut loose, it would fall and take out the ladder - along with anyone on it.

After identifying this hazard, both the ladders and employees were relocated. They then resumed the task of cutting the pipe.
Way to go, Mike! Great job identifying and remedying potential hazards before they became an issue!

Morgan Springs Project
Bennington, VT
We are currently working with the Town of Bennington to construct a 270 square foot bulk water fill station, and about 885 linear feet of 6-inch HDPE water line.

Specifically, the work will include construction of a new building, interior plumbing and electrical components, building site work, trenching, removal of the existing asphalt & subbase and concrete sidewalks, installation of water and sewer line, and other associated site work.

The project will be completed by early summer.

Construction Safety Topic
Hand Signals
Every week during safety meetings, the crew should be looking ahead and identifying any possible hazards, and discussing how they will be removed (or controlled), so that everyone is on the same page.

If there is an issue that comes up during the week, take a moment to talk about it then, because if you wait it could cause unnecessary risk.
Can you answer the question from this week's construction safety discussion?
Only spotters and those who perform spotting duties need to know our hand signals.

This makes checking your tires an important part of both pre and post trip.

The most common cause of tire failure on any vehicle is loose or missing lug nuts.
