Asian-Oceanian Regional Table
The Asian-Oceanian Regional Virtual Table was chaired by Mathew Illathuparampil on November 19th. Roughly 10 members participated. Sharon Bong reported on efforts to develop a VT on gender issues in the region. Stephanie Puen reported on the VT for young scholars. Shaji Kochuthara stressed the need of Asian-Oceanian theologians getting known in the same region better. Unlike other regions, the Asian-Oceanian region comprises huge diversities and therefore identifying typical Asian theology is a complex task. An Asian-Oceanian online conference has been under consideration for a long time. Shaji reaffirmed the group’s commitment to such a dream. In order to arrive at a concrete plan for an online conference, a committee, headed by Shaji, was formed. Along with Shaji, Simeiqi He, Stephanie Puen, Anatoly Angelo Aseneta, Jijo T. Varghese and Agnes Brazal volunteered to become members of this committee.
Finally, the group decided to reconvene in January. At that meeting, Dionius Bismoko Mahamboro will present on "Moral Reasoning in Accompanying, Discerning, and Integrating: Pastoral Care of the Divorced and Remarried in Context." Also, plans for the online conference will be discussed. If you are interested in joining this group, please contact Mathew at illathuparampilmathew@gmail.com.

Call for Proposals in Political Theology
The Center for Political Theology at Villanova University seeks proposals for its new blog, Catholic Re-Visions. They "envision proposals asking questions about grassroots social movements, about gender, race, and class, about colonialism and its legacies, about the connections between the personal and the political, and about the unspoken foundations of Catholic thought and political thought." Participation from international scholars is highly welcomed.
