Recent LRM Justice and Equity Developments…

The Juanita C. Grant Foundation was added as a Justice and Equity Resource. The nonprofit builds solution-focused programs across the lifespan including interactive elder abuse, domestic violence, and fraud prevention workshops, as well as statewide outreach programs to combat social isolation among older adults.

Free Justice was added as a Justice and Equity Resource. The nonprofit provides legal services, policy, advocacy, and community education to improve the lives and legal rights of the LGBTQIA+ community.

LRM's Reframe Aging Workgroup was added as a LRM in Action Key Initiative. The workgroup was established to share best practices and build awareness of age-related bias with stakeholders and held its first workshop on October 9, 2025.

Empower Your Possible was added as a LRM in Action item. This educational series hosted by MDOA, the Maryland Long Term Care Ombudsman, Leading Age Maryland, LifeSpan Network, and AgingIn, focuses on changing the culture of care in Maryland's long-term care settings.

LRM Justice and Equity Information and Resources


The following justice and equity objectives and actions are part of LRM's Epic Goal of Building a Longevity Ecosystem. It involves community planning that incorporates a longevity lens across sectors, creating stronger, safer, and more inclusive places to live and work in Maryland, and coordinating support among state and local leadership to create more efficient pathways for all Marylanders to age in place.

Objectives and Strategies

  • Objective 2: Enhance multi-disciplinary prevention and response policies for elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation across state agencies.
  • Objective 3: Increase the distribution of resources across state programs to historically underserved and under-resourced communities.
