| We define wellness as an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life. Wellness is more than being free from illness, it is a dynamic process of change and growth. Maintaining an optimal level of wellness is absolutely crucial to live a higher quality life. Wellness matters. Wellness matters because everything we do and every emotion we feel relates to our well-being. In turn, our well-being directly affects our actions and emotions. Its an ongoing cycle. Therefore, it is important for everyone to achieve optimal wellness in order to suppress stress, reduce the risk of illness and ensure positive interactions.
As we welcome wellness on June 9th, the official worldwide commemorative date for Global Wellness Day; Spas, Wellness Centers, Educational Institutions, Businesses and many other organizations are gearing up for health-driven and fitness oriented celebrations throughout the State of Florida, the US and worldwide. |

The Florida Spa Association launched "The Source" , the educational and wellness arm of the FSA created as a new platform to stay ahead of the curve of everything happening in the spa industry!
The Florida Spa Association remains committed as a group of Florida Spa professionals united by the desire to promote Florida as the finest destination for a Spa experience and as an Association built around the trust and professionalism of peers that contribute through education and networking to build a successful spa industry.

ISSUE: Should Floridas cosmetology industry be deregulated.
DISCUSSION: There are almost 100,000 cosmetologists currently licensed and active in Florida, and close to 20,000 salons. Floridas beauty industry is alive and well, and the continued regulation of this industry is in the best interests of both consumers and cosmetology service providers.
