An update on the Bittancourt hospital staff housing project

In recent months, we have held off providing an update on this project in the hope that we could soon announce a timeline for renovations or a construction kickoff date.

As a charitable organization accountable to this community, we feel an obligation to provide a long-overdue update and offer as much transparency as possible at this time.

New year, new look for Lady Minto Foundation

The past 18 months have been a period of big change and intense activity, including two new major capital investments in the form of a new Emergency Department and accommodations for our health care workers. As we look forward toward a new chapter for the Foundation, we’re working to improve the way we communicate with our community.

Hospital construction update: Raising the roof at the new Emergency Department!

Though the rainy weather has pushed back our construction schedule slightly, spirits are still high over on Crofton Road! In the past few weeks, crews installed beautiful tongue and groove fir in what will be the waiting area, waterproofed the roof, and continued to rough in utilities in the interior.

A note from our Chair

As we move into 2023, I want to thank the Foundation Directors, volunteers, and Executive Director Roberta Martell for their hard work and dedication in what has been a groundbreaking year.

Yes, that was a play on words, because we literally broke ground on April 26th this year on the new Emergency Department. Here's to a bright 2023 for our community.

As we enter the first months of 2023, we want to take a moment to celebrate the successes of the past year which you, our community, have made possible.

Get to know Erin Price-Lindstrom, Lady Minto Hospital's new Site Director

Barely two months into her new job as Site Director at Lady Minto Hospital and after dodging it for two and a half years, Erin Price Lindstrom came down with Covid-19. “I was fully vaxxed, just boosted…it was just so prevalent here the week before I got my booster, that I must already have had it brewing,” she says.

That anecdote sums up the challenge Price Lindstrom faces as she leads the hospital from the pandemic towards a new and stable future while recognizing the pandemic isn’t done with us yet. “The vaccine has helped reduce the pressures on the health care system,” she says, “although the pressures remain in terms of staff exposures and having to still run our lines here with a lot of sick leave and so on.”
