This week, the DA's Office celebrated Labor Rights Week by partnering with the Consulate Generals of Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua, along with the US Department of Labor, in numerous events.
Our Human Trafficking and Exploitation (HEAT) team participated in a welcome address,
hosted trainings about labor trafficking, and conducted informational sessions to speak to people about their rights and how we can help them if they have been the victim of labor trafficking.
The theme for this year’s Labor Rights Week was '
Your work has dignity! Know your rights'. The collaborative events sought to improve knowledge about labor rights within the Mexican and Latino community, and to provide information and resources to those who stopped by.
If you think you have been a victim of labor trafficking, please call our HEAT Watch tip line on (510) 208- 4959.
