Welcome, Amber Adamson!
Greetings!
Amber Adamson started yesterday as CATS new Development and Communications Director. Coming from Philadelphia and having grown up in near Albany, Amber has over 12 years of experience with non-profit development and communications.
 
Amber lives right here in Westport and is so excited to be in the North Country now!

We're Hiring!
We are still accepting applications for a new Operations Manager for CATS! This person will coordinate our daily operations, manage the financial records, and assist with fundraising and grants administration.
 
The job description can be viewed here on the CATS website. Applications will be accepted until February 15th, or when the position is filled. Please spread the word that we have a great opportunity for someone to be part of team that is making trails, saving land, and connecting people with nature in New York’s Champlain Valley.
Pok-O Ski Adventure
SATURDAY, JANUARY 29Back Country Ski Exploration hosted by the Friends of Pok-O-Moonshine. Meet at the Observers’ trailhead at 9:30 am to explore the trails on the west side of Poke-O. David Thomas-Train will lead this trip for skiers with at least intermediate skills, to manage some steep, narrow terrain. Arduous, 3-4 hours.

FOR SKI AND SNOWSHOE TRIPS: Dress in non-cotton layers and bring extra clothing, food, hot and cold liquids. It is a must that you be proficient with your equipment and the designated mode of travel! Call or text David Thomas-Train, at 802-989-6134, for details and to sign up. Limit of 6 participants. 
Second Saturday Trail Project at Long Pond
Saturday, February 12 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
 
Please come out to continue making a new trail through the forest on the CATS – Long Pond Conservancy property on the west side of Long Pond in Willsboro. We’ll meet at the trailhead on Carver Road, about 0.7 miles west of its intersection with NYS Route 22. Then we’ll cut and remove branches and saplings as we work to make the trail. Bring loppers and/or a handsaw. We will bring tools if you need some.
