Amid the widespread confusion over when and how LA County Resident's 65 years and older will receive the COVID-19 vaccine, Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis signed an executive order late Monday, directing County Health Officials to make the COVID-19 Vaccines available to residents 65 years and older beginning Thursday, January 21, 2021.
Hilda Solis, Chairwoman for Los Angeles County Supervisors said a website and call center to make appointments will be announced before Thursday. Meanwhile, the LA County Public Health Department will hold a COVID-19 virtual vaccine town hall this evening to discuss more about the vaccine distribution process here in Los Angeles County.
This executive order is in line with the revised guidance released last week by Gov. Gavin Newsom, who authorized local jurisdictions to expand the vaccination programs to those 65 years and older.
