With more than 20 years of experience in communications and an additional eight working for TV news, Richard is ready to tell the world about all the great work taking place at Lehman College by our students, faculty and administrators.
He comes to Lehman after working for almost five years as Director of Media Relations at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Before that he spent more than 12 years at St. Francis College in Brooklyn.
A graduate of Binghamton University and Baruch College, Richard has seen, first-hand, the power of public education and the opportunities it can unlock.
After graduating from Binghamton, he made his way to Lexington, Kentucky, running cameras, the audio board, and producing local news for the NBC station. The next stop was another NBC station, this time in Orlando, Florida, until ultimately returning home to New York, where he became Executive Producer of the morning show at Spectrum News NY1.
“The people are always the best part of any job, and I’m looking forward to meeting as many as possible, so I can help tell their stories,” said Relkin.
Richard lives in New Rochelle where he serves on the board of the New Rochelle Fund for Educational Excellence.
In his spare time, he likes to attend NASCAR races with his son and read comic books.
Join me in welcoming Richard to the Lehman Community.
