Dear Friends,

On behalf of our Board of Directors, I am thrilled to announce that Candice Driver will be the next Norma Jean Calderwood Director of the Cambridge Art Association (CAA). Candice holds a BA in Art History from Pennsylvania State University (2017) and an MA from Boston University (2020). We believe she possesses both the educational background and professional experience necessary for success in this role.

Many of you have come to know Candice over the past two years in her capacity as Associate Director of CAA. During this time, she has gained a robust understanding of our organization’s operations, worked closely with our staff and members, expanded our exhibition programming, and assumed the responsibilities of marketing coordinator. Candice has demonstrated her leadership and management skills, showcased her commitment to our current programming, and worked to amplify diverse voices.

We are confident that Candice's appointment will ensure a smooth transition for CAA. She is excited to lead our upcoming strategic planning process and continue our focus on building a Culture of Belonging.

Candice will officially begin her new role in January. If you’d like to meet her before then, please stop by the Kathryn Schultz Gallery to see the Aura exhibit, or join us for the Holiday Small Works Sale and Celebration on December 11th.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Erin Becker, our current Norma Jean Calderwood Director, for her outstanding leadership over the past 12 years and for her support during this transition. Please join us in celebrating Erin’s contributions and impact on CAA at the Holiday Small Works Sale on December 11th.

Thank you for your continued engagement and support.

Deb Peeples

President, CAA's Board of Directors
