Meridian Township welcomes new Parks and Recreation Director, Courtney Wisinski!

Prior to her new role, Director Wisinski showed her commitment to the Township as a Township Board Trustee from 2019 to 2023, and as a Park Commissioner from 2017 to 2019.
Holiday Events
Recycle Christmas Trees With Us!
We are offering a FREE drop-off option for real Christmas trees! Through January 31, 2024, drop-off your real Christmas trees from dawn to dusk at Nancy Moore Park. If you do not have a real Christmas tree, you can bring your artificial tree and any wreaths to the Meridian Township Recycling Center (5976 Lake Drive, Haslett) for a fee.
Pajamas & Penguins Ice Skating Party
Bundle up in your PJs, bring the family, and stop by at Marketplace on the Green (1995 Central Park Drive) for a night of comfy fun on the artificial ice! On Saturday, January 20, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, join us on the artificial ice rink for a "Best Pajama Contest", skating, music, games, prizes, and hot chocolate!
Winter Farmers' Market Continues
Have you found the Winter Farmers' Market yet? We are in full swing inside the Meridian Mall!
Join us the first, third, and fifth (when applicable) Saturdays of each month in the Meridian Mall's JCPenney Wing to shop local produce, baked goods, proteins, crafts, food-to-go, and more!

Taco & Trivia Night
Get ready to enjoy terrific tacos and tricky trivia! Stop by the Meridian Senior Center for a night of tacos and brain battles on Thursday, January 25! Tickets are $5/person and will be on sale through January 19.

Hold a beautiful, local wedding ceremony at the Meridian Historical Village! Our chapel serves as a special year-round venue, and our gazebo is perfect for summertime weddings, located in the heart of the Village looking over Central Pond.
Harris Nature Center Spotlight
Decades of Dedication
Jim Buscetta, president of the Harris Nature Center Foundation Board since 2018, has announced that he is stepping down from his leadership role.
Buscetta’s tenure has been characterized by a profound commitment to the mission of the Harris Nature Center, ensuring the growth of the Center through various challenges.
Dogs After Dark
Treat your dog to a nighttime trail walk at the Harris Nature Center! The walk is approximately three miles long and it is a great way for your pup to socialize and burn off some energy.

There is a $5/person fee payable at the walk or online (non-refundable).
Chipmunk Story Time
Story time comes alive at the Harris Nature Center as children interact with puppets Chicory Chipmunk and his animal friends. Stories are followed by nature activities and a guided walk.

Registration is a $5/child, payable at the program or online (non-refundable).
Meridian Conservation Corps Spotlight
Trailside Ecology Night
We will be returning with a second night hike at Red Cedar Glen Preserve on January 23 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm! Owls are currently in their breeding season and are the most vocal this time of year. We will use red lamps and head out on the trails in hopes to hear their calls. Red lights and hot cocoa will be available while supplies last.
Weekday Warriors
Join us for an indoor activity at the Service Center on January 18 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. We will be processing the native seeds left from our collection season in 2023. These seeds will be sowed into parks and preserves during the winter and spring seasons. We will have music, cocoa and popcorn for a relaxing afternoon of stewardship!
Stewardship Saturday
This workday at Eastgate Park will take place on January 27 from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm, with a focus on the cutting of invasive bittersweet, an extremely aggressive vine that is taking over local forests. All tools will be provided, and no experience is necessary. Come learn about invasives so you can help prevent them!
