Welcoming International and
Students in Residence
Robust Plan for a Safe Return
UWindsor has developed comprehensive plans to support the safe return of students in residence, international students and approved essential staff and researchers for Winter 2021, while closely adhering to provincial and local health unit guidelines.

International and residence students will undergo a modified quarantine which includes:

  • All residence students will be required to obtain a COVID-19 test during scheduled testing clinics the week of January 11, 2021. (testing information has been provided directly to those in residence)
  • A 14-day period from arrival date or until a negative COVID-19 test result is acquired.
  • Students must wear a mask at all times except in private room.
  • Limiting time outside of living space except for essential tasks (food pickup, medical appointments).
  • Guests will not be permitted into suite until after January 25, 2021.

"There is a likelihood of positive cases in the coming days based on case counts locally and around the world," remarked Jennie Atkins, Chair Return to Campus Committees, "however we are confident that our extensive protocols and demonstrated results in preventing further spread will ensure campus safety."

Campus Access Reminder
UWindsor is operating under a heightened essential services plus limited, approved critical research model in response to the province-wide Grey-Lockdown phase, set to last for Windsor-Essex until at least January 23.
Campus access is restricted. Faculty, staff and students who are working or learning remotely should not attend campus at this time unless they are authorized.

For a list of remote services that can be accessed virtually, visit the Available and Remote Services page.
In a continued effort to keep you well informed on the latest Return to Campus (RTC) plans, you will receive regular communications through RTC News Update bulletins, the semi-monthly RTC
e-newsletter, UWindsor social pages and the RTC Website.
