Good afternoon,
As Chair of the Steering Committee of the Massachusetts Food System Collaborative, I am thrilled to share the news that the Collaborative has hired our next Executive Director, Kristina Pechulis. Kristina brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and passion to this role, and we look forward to working with her to help the Collaborative flourish and grow.
Kristina comes to us after teaching undergraduate classes related to law, Massachusetts politics, and food policy at Simmons University for the past 10 years, and serving as director of a fellowship program focused on policy. Prior to her work at Simmons, Kristina served as the Director of the Lynn Food and Fitness Alliance through the City of Lynn Public Health Department and as Legislative Director and General Counsel to a state senator in the Massachusetts state legislature.
As we welcome Kristina to her new role, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to Winton Pitcoff for his years of leadership. We are confident that Kristina will build on Winton’s work, working closely with stakeholders from across the Commonwealth to build a more equitable, sustainable, and resilient food system. We are very appreciative of our Interim Executive Director and former Steering Committee Member, J. Harrison, for all he has done to support the Collaborative and for the work he will continue to do to support Kristina and our Steering Committee during this transition.
To kick off this exciting new chapter at the Collaborative, Kristina will be joining us at the Food System Forum on December 8th. If you are able to attend, this will be an excellent opportunity to meet our new executive director and to welcome her to the Collaborative. If you miss Kristina at the Forum, we look forward to you meeting her on network calls, advocacy days at the State House, and other Collaborative events when she takes on this new role starting in the new year!
Sincerely,
