Welcoming Rev. Justin Mikulencak

This past Sunday you got to meet our Pastor, Rev. Justin Mikulencak, and we will get to continue welcoming him and his family this month in some special ways!

January 8th will be Justin’s first sermon with us at Parkway UMC. We hope that you will make an effort to be present in person this Sunday. Make sure to say hello to his wife, Courtney, and their two children, Ellis and Maggie as well!

January 15th will be the official Welcome Sunday for Justin and his family. Join us for a fun worship service that day with one of our board members “interviewing” Justin during the service and a Chili Potluck after the second service, with a time for fellowship to get to know Justin and his family. Women’s Ministry Retreat

This weekend, many women in our church will be retreating at Jordan Ranch, focusing on the topic, The Hope of Restoration. We invite you to be in prayer for these women and for our Women’s Ministry as a whole.

Midweek Ministry Begins

Midweek Ministries, our church wide Bible Study ministry, begins for this semester on January 18th. Everyone is invited to join us for dinner from 6-6:30pm in the Ministry Center atrium and then break out into Bible Study groups from 6:30-8pm. We have age level Bible Studies for everyone! Children ages nursery to fifth grade are invited to join our Children’s Director, Becky Betz, in the Children’s Ministry wing. Our students sixth to twelfth grade are invited to join our Director of Student Ministries, Kat Britton, upstairs for Middle School and High School Bible studies. All adults are welcome to join Pastor Justin in Rooms 126/128 (Club 45) for Bible Study each week. Stay tuned to find out what topic/book Pastor Justin will be focusing on! 

Parent’s Night Out

Our next Parent’s Night Out is February 3rd from 6-10pm. All our children are invited for a fun evening planned by Becky, with dinner, activities, games, and a movie to give their parents a little bit of a break! The cost of this event is $15/child. Parent’s Night Out registration historically fills up rather quickly, so make sure to mark your calendars for January 18th at 10am when registration opens on our website (https://parkwayumc.org/ministries/childrens-ministry)

Family Promise

Fort Bend Family Promise (FBFP) helps families develop a plan to attain safe, affordable housing and develop the confidence and skills they need to achieve long-term independence. FBFP also assists hundreds of other individuals each year through referrals and partnerships with other local social service agencies and resources. FBFP has decided to house families temporarily in what they are calling “static housing” to the benefit the families.

Parkway will be providing dinners for the families (10-18 persons total) in this program, January 22nd-28th. If you would be available and feel called to provide one of the meals for that week, please sign up HERE.
