THE CHANGE OF SEASONS

Are you familiar with Dry Farming?

Dry Farming is a traditional farming technique that relies solely on natures production of rain water. No forced or trickle irrigation is utilized. It forces the vines to seek deeply in soils which have the ability to retain moisture. While it requires more intense management of soil health and carries risks if water becomes critically low, many premium winemakers adopt this method for better fruit concentration and environmental stewardship.

Allow us to introduce you to Two Shepherds Winery

Two Shepherds is a micro winery based in Sonoma, California that focuses on uncommon grape varieties. Their grapes are handpicked, organic and dry farmed. They utilize native yeast and are aged in neutral barrels. The neutral barrels guarantee the maximum expression of the grape varietals

characteristics. They produce wines that are unrefined and unfiltered utilizing two ingredients: organic grapes and minimal sulfur.

They follow the ethos that they make wine they want to drink, their wines are never boring and they follow the path of being a bit nonsensical, but it works and you can taste it in every bottle they mindfully produce.

Join us for a casual tasting event on April 29th on the patio (weather permitting) featuring Two Shepherds winery led by Patrick Green of Fantasma Wines beginning at 5pm. We will offer two of their wines paired with some small bites. There are a limited number of seats offered for this event, so reserve with us today! To save your seat click the link below, call 410-770-4777 to reserve your seat over the phone, or pop by during business hours L: 11:30-2 or after 5pm during dinner service Tues.-Sat.

Spring is Ramping Up!!

In just a few short weeks (end of April beginning of May) we will head up to our place in the Catskills to forage ramps. There is a part of our property that is blanketed with ramps. I call it Ramp city! On March 29th-31st I took 3 hikes up to ramp city to assess the emergence of their spiky heads peeping up after a long slumber. To my childlike amazement they were everywhere. I believe we will have a robust bounty this year so stay tuned!

We will be offering our ramps for sale as well as selling a limited amount of ramp butter presented in a small handmade crock lovingly created by Paul Aspell. We will have them available for sale in a limited quantity. Please go to the market on our website to

reserve your ramp butter bundle!
