Hello!
March brings longer days, a little more sunlight, and that steady sense that something new is beginning. It’s a fitting time to pause and reflect, especially during Women’s History Month, as we honor the women who began this work in 1897 and those who continue to lead and serve today.
In this month’s newsletter, you’ll read about that legacy and the impact it still has on families in Price Hill. We’re also excited to welcome a familiar friend back into leadership as a new board member. You’ll find details about our upcoming Spring Health Fair at ARCO Cincy, along with how neighbors can access free screenings and support. Lastly, we’re looking ahead to an evening at West Side Brewing, where gathering with friends also means giving back to local families. You’ll also see a simple way to honor someone special or remember a loved one through a gift made in their name.
A lot is happening this season, and we’re grateful you’re part of it.

Reclaiming Our Health Goals:
The Health Fair is Almost Here!
| |
This Saturday, March 14, 2026, Santa Maria will host its annual Health Fair at ARCO Cincy (3301 Price Ave) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Events like the Health Fair are vital for communities like Greater Price Hill, where residents experience higher rates of health issues, yet lack the health insurance they need to receive proper care.
This event offers free health services for the Price Hill community, including physical health exams, screenings, wellness activities, food, and help with public benefits. It’s all about access, dignity, and care, and it wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of people like you.
Here’s how you can help:
-
Spread the Word: Share the flyer above with someone who could benefit from free screenings and support.
-
Sponsor: Businesses and organizations that want to stand for a healthier, stronger community can sponsor the Spring Health Fair and be part of expanding access to care in Price Hill. Sponsorship is a clear, local way to back health equity with real, community-facing impact. Visit SantaMaria-Cincy.org/sponsorship-opportunities to learn more.
We’re grateful to our current sponsors, the Academy of Medicine and Cincy-Cinco, and to our Health Fair providing partners for helping us bring these meaningful services to neighbors.
Together, we can meet people where they are and make meeting health goals a little more accessible for everyone.

Every Women’s History Month, we pause to remember where Santa Maria began its story.
In 1897, an organization that would later become Santa Maria Community Services was founded by two women who saw the needs of others and stepped up. They believed Italian families arriving in Cincinnati deserved opportunity, dignity, and support. That belief became action, and that action became a legacy that still lives on today.
More than a century later, women continue to guide this work each day. From our program staff to our executive team, family support workers, educators, and volunteers, women are walking alongside program participants as they build stability, strengthen their health, pursue education, and move toward independence.
Women in our community are leading their families with courage and determination. They are setting goals, returning to school, building careers, caring for children, and creating brighter futures. Santa Maria is honored to walk beside them, offering support along the way.
This month, not only do we celebrate the women who founded Santa Maria, but we also celebrate the women who lead it today. Most of all, we celebrate the women in Price Hill who rise each day for their families and their future.
Here’s to the women who guide, support, and rise together. Happy Women’s History Month!

Join us on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 5 to 9 p.m. at West Side Brewing for an evening that gives back!
West Side Brewing is one of Cincinnati’s beloved local breweries with more than 30 tap choices, including traditional ales, crisp lagers, hoppy IPAs, and refreshing ciders alongside wine and soft drink options. You might find a smooth Hefeweizen, a bold Double IPA, a light Common Ale, a fruity hard cider, or seasonal specialties depending on the day. They also serve pizza and snacks through Catch‑a‑Fire Pizza to pair with your drink. Most importantly of all, you might find a connection with someone who shares your passion for doing good in their community!
During Cheers for Charity, 20% of all sales will be donated to Santa Maria to support our work with families in Greater Price Hill. Come enjoy a drink, enter to win raffle prizes, and connect with others who care about community health and opportunity.
Bring your friends, share a toast, and make a difference while sampling local brews. 🍻
| | Honor or Remember Someone Special | |
Sometimes the most meaningful gifts are the ones that carry a story. A tribute gift allows you to celebrate someone who has made a difference in your life while also supporting families working to build a brighter future.
Unsure of what gift to give to someone who has it all? Santa Maria has the option to make a gift in honor of someone, perhaps to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, retirement, or another meaningful milestone. It's a thoughtful way to recognize the people who inspire you and the role they have played in your life.
Santa Maria also has the option to give in memory of someone, keeping their legacy alive by helping others. Many supporters find comfort in honoring a loved one this way, knowing that their memory continues to make a difference in the lives of families in Price Hill.
However you choose to give, your tribute becomes part of something larger, helping neighbors find stability, health, and opportunity.
To make a gift in honor or memory of someone special, visit SantaMaria-Cincy.org/give, and select "Give a monetary gift online," then select the choice that feels most meaningful to you under "Donation Designation."
