June Life-Skills Class was taught by Christian Brothers Automotive Services
Not everyone had a person in their lives who taught them how to maintain a vehicle when they were learning how to drive. For low-income families, this can equal preventable and costly transportation breakdowns that can lead to loss of a job which can cause housing insecurity.

Our life-skills class this month taught the moms in our program how to maintain an older car, and how to handle road emergencies.

These lessons can help our single moms become more self-sufficient when they graduate from Shelter from the Storm Ministries.

Thank you Jeff and the guys at Christian Brothers in Sun Prairie!
We help with that.
A Newborn in the House!
This week we undertook a big move, sooner than we had planned. We had one tiny suite left that could accommodate one adult and an infant and we got the call last week that a person on our wait list was having her baby.

Through generous donations we secured a POD storage unit, moved supplies to it, cleaned out the suite and prepared it for our new family. The room was stocked with essentials and the new mom and sweet baby boy moved in last Thursday!

If you would like to help out our new mom by volunteering to hold/rock the baby for an hour here or there so she can have a little time to do personal care or get some rest- please click the e-mail Tami Fleming link below.

If you would like to help sponsor this new family by donating to our "ONE FAMILY" campaign, please click "Visit our website" and join the ONE FAMILY campaign. Ending homelessness in Sun Prairie, ONE FAMILY at a time.
FCIS Flip Floppin' Into Summer
Since 2012, First Choice Insurance Solutions (FCIS) has held their annual Flip Floppin' Into Summer flip flop collection drive to collect flip flops for a local non-profit Hope 2 Others. The flip flops are collected and delivered to Africa where Hope 2 Others works with Tanzania tribes and the flip flops are important because they help by providing an essential barrier from dangerous organisms in the soil that carry life threatening diseases.

FCIS will also help our local SFTSM shelter by donating $2 per pair to SFTSM. Join us in supporting Hope 2 Others and SFTSM by joining the Flip Floppin' Into Summer collection drive and donating new children and adult size flip flops during regular business hours from June 21st through July 31st at FCIS 1777 W Main Street in the Wagner's Crossing Building.
MCGF One Family Match Met!
Thank you to everyone who joined SFTSM and MCGF (Madison Christian Giving Fund) for our  MCGF One Family Match!  We have raised our goal of $4,000 raising a total of $8,000 (with matching funds) that continues to help our homeless single mom's and their children. Through your generous donations you have made a big impact in their lives.
