Greetings,

Happy new year! This year, we hit the ground running and welcomed four outstanding new attorneys to the NIPNLG team. With these new additions to our staff, we are excited to expand our trainings, practice advisories, technical assistance, and mentorship to our members and partners. Our new team members will also increase our capacity to staff immigration-related network and collaborative spaces that focus on education and legal advocacy.

With your partnership and our team's added capacity, we are ready to find bolder, better, and more intersectional ways to do this work in 2022—and we've already gotten started! Please see below to learn about some of our recent resources, upcoming CLEs, website revamp project, and plans for the new year.
Welcoming New Staff Members
The National Immigration Project is excited to welcome four new attorneys: Michelle Méndez, Director of Legal Resources & Training (top left); Vickie Neilson, Supervising Attorney (top right); Rebecca Scholtz, Senior Staff Attorney (bottom left); and Ann Garcia, Staff Attorney (bottom right). With these new additions to our staff, we are excited to expand our ability to offer trainings, practice advisories, technical assistance, and mentorship to our members and partners. Please join us in welcoming our new team members!
New Resources on Migrant Prosecutions
The National Immigration Project recently released a new report, Rooted in Racism: The Human Impact of Migrant Prosecutions, which highlights trends and stories of people prosecuted for unauthorized entry or reentry under 8 U.S.C. § 1325 and § 1326. Along with this report, we are also releasing a new community explainer and practice advisory.

Requesting Website Feedback
We're refreshing our website! This year, we will be updating our website's design and structure to better meet the needs of our diverse audiences. To help us create the best website possible, we hope you'll consider sharing your thoughts with us in this short survey. Please go with your gut and don't worry about grammar, spelling or any other imperfections that may get in the way of you writing freely and sharing openly.

Now Hiring: Legal Assistant
The National Immigration Project is searching for a Legal Assistant to join our growing team. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for coordinating the organization’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE) trainings and law-related events in collaboration with operations and program staff, and providing critical legal and administrative support to our dynamic team of attorneys. Help us spread the word as we search for someone to join our dedicated staff!
