Tax Filing Deadline
The 2019 income tax filing and payment deadline is coming up on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 . This relief, which was given due to COVID-19, applies to all individual returns, trusts, and corporations. This relief was automatic, and taxpayers do not need to file any additional forms or call the IRS to qualify.

Penalties and interest will begin to accrue on any remaining unpaid balances as of July 16, 2020 .

Individual taxpayers who need additional time to file beyond the July 15 deadline can request a filing extension by filing Form 4868 through their tax professional, tax software or using the Free File link on IRS.gov. Businesses who need additional time must file Form 7004.

Minimum Wage Increase
Minimum wage is set to increase in Montgomery County on July 1 . Signed into legislation on Nov. 17, 2017, Bill 28-17 raises the minimum wage incrementally, each July 1, until it reaches $15 per hour in 2022.
Most employees must be paid at least the Montgomery County minimum wage rate. Please read the full press release for more information.
