Welcoming the Stranger
Guest Speaker Reverend Steven Jarose
Unity honors the universal truths common to all faith traditions. One such principle is that of hospitality... extending warmth and welcome to others. Jesus is a wonderful example in this regard. Yet we live in a society fractured by division, hostility and hurt. To see the wholeness and goodness in others, we must open to God's loving presence in us. Welcoming The Stranger is both an inner and an outward experience. The more our light shines from within, the more the divine energy of Spirit can express itself naturally as it radiates outward to others.
Our talk on Sunday will explore the notion of the stranger and how we might befriend the many parts and pieces to ourselves in our quest for wholeness. In this way, we come to embrace the complete goodness in others and in all of creation.
