The Minnesota Dual-Training Pipeline All-Industry Forum is on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, 443 Lafayette Road N., St. Paul, MN 55155.

The All-Industry Forum is an opportunity for leaders from the seven Pipeline industries of agriculture, advanced manufacturing, child care, health care services, information technology, transportation and the legal cannabis industry to come together in-person for an engaging event. The forum will include updates from Pipeline program staff, dual-training success stories, discussion about latest workforce trends and the opportunity to network and interact with industry leaders and educators from across Minnesota. 

RSVP is not required but recommended to pipeline.program@state.mn.us.

Last week a group of us from the city and Chamber participated in Lakeville North’s annual Food Truck Wars.

This is a really cool collaboration between the Marketing teacher (Meggan Malone) and the FACs teacher (Alissa Petersen) at LNHS - where marketing students design the truck and the menu and the FACs students cook the food. We tried and judged food from 16 different food trucks – everything from Nashville Hot Chicken & Waffles, to Cookie Monster cookie dough, to fruit pizza on Rice Krispie bars.

We are able to challenge the students with questions about how they came up with the concept, where they plan to locate the trucks, what their plans for the winter are, and so on. Such a fun time and we look forward to it every year!

The Lakeville Area Chamber Foundation Board of Directors awarded $11,000 in high school senior scholarships this year.

These scholarships are going to Lakeville students who are pursuing in-demand careers in a variety of industries. To-date the Foundation has awarded nearly $40,000 in high school scholarships. These annual scholarships are open to Lakeville High School seniors and the portal will re-open this fall, with a March 31 deadline.

The Chamber Foundation raises money through $26 annual donations from Chamber members (on your renewal invoice), and events like our spring Suds for Scholars and fall Bowling for Education fundraisers.
