Wellness Tip of the Week
Art for mental health
Many people already find creating art to be relaxing, and stress reducing but there are more benefits to it as well. Expressing yourself through your art when you cannot find the words can help to process those complex feelings which helps those with depression, anxiety, and post traumatic stress disorder. Sometimes when a person buries their feelings and emotions, they become more difficult to talk about. Participating in creative art can help to recognize and acknowledge these feelings that have been buried and express them in a healthy and safe outlet. Art therapy can also help address these mental health diagnoses by tailoring art activities to your specific needs. Look for a licensed art therapist in your area if this interests you.
