Dement Town Music Fest Returns Sept. 7!

If you missed the boat last year, now’s your chance to redeem yourself! Dement Town Music Fest will return Saturday, Sept. 7 to the 600 block of Depot Avenue!

Hello Weekend, a high-energy cover band from Chicago, put on an unbelievable live show last year, playing hits that spanned decades and genres, not just the same ones you always hear! From Lady Gaga to Guns N’ Roses, you truly didn’t know what was coming next!

Discover Dixon knew after the band’s set last year that we had to bring them back. They’ll return to headline the event!

Joining them this year will be local favorite Burn ‘N Bush, hailing out of Ashton, who will get the party started out right with their 2-man acoustic jams that has garnered them a huge and loyal following!

Also on the bill this year is The Empty Pockets, a powerhouse Chicago band boasting “a joyful friction of blues, Americana, folk, and rock n’ roll spiked with roots soul.”

Local favorite Lil' Smoked Bar + Grill will have meals available to purchase, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Mary’s Diner will also offer great items to keep you fueled up, and PJ’s will be serving drinks that night, too!

There will be a mobile axe throwing station set up and the bags boards will be out for you to enjoy while you take in the music!

Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the gate. Gates open at 2 p.m., and the music will be bumping from 3 to 10!

This event is all ages. Those 21 and older should be prepared to show ID in order to purchase alcohol. Picnic table seating will be available, but you can bring in your own chairs. Outside coolers will not be allowed.

City of Dixon Celebrates ITEP West Path Opening With Ribbon Cutting!

Below Courtesy of the City of Dixon:

Another portion of the Dixon Riverfront Master Plan has come to life.

On July 18, Dixon council members and administration came together with IDOT, Lee County, Dixon Park District, Discover Dixon, Fehr Graham and Martin to officially open the new section of multi-use pathways along the Riverfront. It is an honor to be able to bring this amenity to our community.

Thank you to the Riverfront Commission for the vision that set this project into motion over 20 years ago.

Thank you to the EPA and IEPA for Brownfield Grant Funding and millions in clean-up dollars. The City wouldn't have been able to reclaim this land along the riverfront without this funding.

Thank you to IDOT for awarding the City grant dollars that covered the majority of the multi-use pathways project through the ITEP (Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program) grant. This pathway connects the west end to downtown and helps improve the quality of of life for our citizens.

Thank to our consultants, Fehr Graham, for overseeing the cleanup of the former Dixon Iron and Metal Co. site. Fehr Graham also designed and oversaw construction of the multi-use pathway. The incline leading up to the path on the top of the viaducts is 100% ADA accessible.

Thank you to Martin Co. for construction of the multi-use pathway.
