Wellesley Books Newsletter | November 22nd, 2023
Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you have a warm, relaxing Turkey Day, whether you're gathered with family, or with friends, or planning a low-key alternative to the traditional festivities. Please note that we'll be open until 6 p.m. today and closed on Thanksgiving Day, so our booksellers can rest up before the big weekend.
Black Friday at Wellesley Books is traditionally Family Day. If you're feeling cooped up after the feast, bring yours! We love to see all of the big, multi-generational groups out for a stroll to the local bookstore. Speaking of strolls, the Holiday Stroll returns this year on December 3rd. And our final author event of 2023 promises to be a ton of fun. Read on for more!

Wednesday, December 6th at 7 PM
Rebecca Shaw and Ben Kronengold, the youngest comedy writers ever for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, join us to discuss their new book of short stories, Naked in the Rideshare: Stories of Gross Miscalculations.
Showing off their trademark humor and writing chops that have made them a viral sensation, Shaw and Kronengold provide a collection of startlingly funny stories that will keep readers laughing. Irreverent, disturbing, and surprisingly hopeful, this book is not to be missed.

Baking Yesteryear by B. Dylan Hollis
He's prolific on social media, since that's where he started making these vintage recipes. He has a distinct, sassy voice and is continuing to keep these iconic foods of the 1900s on people's radars in the 21st century!

Ashleigh recommends:
What the River Knows by Isabel Ibañez
Absolutely riveting! What The River Knows cast a lyrical web of adventure, suspense, betrayal, mystery, and romance over me. I didn't want it to end, and OH MY GOD the end! You can feel Isabel's passion, fascination, and research on every page as she takes us across oceans from 1880s Argentina to Cairo, down the Nile, deep into an ancient pharaoh's tomb, and right into the middle of an archaeological conspiracy. And that doesn't even cover the tastiest of slow burn romances--yum! I can't wait to return to Inez's story in the sequel.

Could this be our biggest-ever selection of boxed holiday cards? Slow it down and delight in the joy of receiving (and sending) good old-fashioned snail mail.

Woody
Woody is a vivacious six year-old Goldendoodle--November is his birthday month! He's also Insta-famous as the star of Wonderful Wellesley Walks With Woody. We were lucky enough to be one of his very first visits! When he's not posing on the 'Gram, you can catch him at Isabel Harvey, where he's the shop dog and all-around morale booster. He can also be spotted on the beach at Morse's Pond.
