Comprehensive Plan Draft
Mark your calendars, the Town of Wellington is excited to bring the Comprehensive Plan draft to the public for additional comments beginning March 9, 2021! Tune into the Board of Trustees regular meeting on March 9, at 6:30 p.m. for a presentation of the document. 

 The Comprehensive Plan is a guiding document crafted alongside the community to provide a 20+ year vision for the Town's future. The goal of comprehensive planning is to understand current community desires with expected growth to ensure resources and infrastructure are in line with the community vision and pillars.
 
After the Comprehensive Plan draft is published, all community members are encouraged to review the plan and submit comments on the interactive online document. Hard copies of the document will also be available for review in-person. 
Efficient water use is a long-term investment that produces excellent returns for our community. With limited supplies in the state of Colorado, water conservation and efficiency are necessary practices to manage our resources for the future, and it saves customers money in the long run.  

Over the long term, reducing demand through conservation has been shown to benefit water customers by limiting the utility’s costs for energy, infrastructure, and chemicals needed to move clean and store water. Every gallon saved is a gallon that does not need to be pumped, treated or delivered – those savings are reflected in your water bill.  

When we are able to reduce our costs, that helps slow the rise of water rates over the long‐term.

Show Your Wellington Pride

#ShopWellington reusable shopping bags are $25 and come filled with gear & coupons from local businesses. Proceeds from the sale of these bags will go toward a Downtown Sign Grant to assist Wellington businesses with the purchase of new signs.

As the weather warms up, there is no better time to keep an eye out for potholes. If you see a problem, report using the button below.

The Public Works team works hard to ensure all Town of Wellington property is maintained. If a problem falls outside of Town jurisdiction we will keep a log and report to the appropriate entity.

Town Administrator Update
Approaching 90 days as your Town Administrator I know one thing for sure, Wellington is a wonderful and resilient community. Thank you for welcoming me with such open arms. Working alongside the Mayor, Board of Trustees, Town staff, Chamber, Main Street Program, and most importantly residents, has been a distinct pleasure.

There are several projects in process that are moving our Town forward. The Water Treatment Plant expansion project has completed the 10 percent design phase. While continuing to work on the plant with excited anticipation for completion before 2025, water conservation remains essential.

Valuing Our Water the Wellington Way is a conservation program designed to educate and empower residents to make choices that benefit individual households and our community as a whole. Small changes make a big impact that over time can lead to cost savings.

Along with active community involvement, we are continuing to implement advanced meters that provide many benefits including real-time leak detection. Further, we are exploring landscaping and irrigation standards to encourage native and low water plants.

The Comprehensive Plan is a document that is developed in three phases, from January 2020 through March 2021. A Steering Committee comprised of Wellington community members has helped guide the Plan’s development, including public events to involve the community in the process. With over 700 community comments, we are excited to continue to gather and engage with feedback through March. The following community vision and pillars speak to the vibrant and thriving community here in Wellington.
