Policy Change

You may now use your allotted CEU benefit time for professional growth and development!

Use your time in parts or in whole to learn about areas of interest, pursue professional certifications, observe interventions, etc.

Time is pro-rated by pay class.

For example, full-time employees currently get 16 hours to use. You may elect to use 4 of those hours for TJQMBB self-study time and the remaining 12 for a Continuing Education course.

BILLING

Beginning June 1, 2023 we are switching to a new billing format for our sites. Instead of using the paper Activity Logs, we will now be using the Wellness Billing Logs online. Please complete a form and submit after completion of each scheduled class.

As a reminder, this is not necessarily YOUR time as an instructor; this is what we use to bill sites for services provided.

Please save this link to use for all classes.

Tracking “class prep” and “travel time will help us to better determine our price ranges for services provided.

Please still submit a form if your class was cancelled by the site.

We hope that this will decrease the “hunting down” of Activity Logs at the end of each month and improve our billing efficiency.

Please reach out with questions and feedback.

Contact HR directly if you do not see this option or have further questions.

Physical Wellness Updates

We are currently underway in our participation of an OHA Grant. This grant allows us to provide Evidence-Based Falls Prevention Programs to FIFTEEN Senior Centers across the state of Rhode Island.

Programs selected were Tai Ji Quan Moving for Better Balance (TJQMBB) and Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL).

The grant allows these services to be provided free of cost to the community. Each program is 6 months long and is delivered by someone who has been certified as an instructor AND is a licensed therapist.

Our Senior Centers have already been selected and many have started their programs. All programs will be completed by September 2024.

Please refer your patients and community members to programs in their area.

Thinking About Joining Wellness?

As our department expands, we are always looking for instructors and providers for our programs. Wellness services can be a great supplement to the day-to-day interventions you already partake in, averaging just 2 hrs/wk.

Still not sure if it’s for you?
