WELLNESS TIP OF THE WEEK
Coping with Intense Emotions
It is natural to feel stress, anxiety, grief and worry during times of uncertainty and crises. Below are some reminders to help you cope with intense emotions:
  • Take care of your body (i.e. eat healthy and balanced meals, drink plenty of water, get a restful sleep, include active breaks into your day)
  • Connect with others (i.e. call a family member or a friend, schedule a virtual coffee break)
  • Maintain a strong support system and healthy relationships (i.e. make time for people who matter; reach out to them, be there for them when they need you)
  • Take breaks and do things you enjoy (i.e. listen to music, go for a walk, do yoga, meditate)
  • Stay informed but avoid exposure to too much news (i.e. rely on credible news source(s) and limit social media exposure)
  • Seek help when you need it (i.e. accept that we cannot always do it alone, reach out to your support bubble or seek professional help when needed)
