Summer is on the horizon and with that, Welltech Ventures is blooming. Even as the global wellness economy grows, global health and well-being are in crisis. Global health expenditures are $8.5 trillion annually, while an economic burden from physical inactivity is $67.5 billion annually and losses from malnutrition is $3.5 trillion annually¹. By working together, we can, and will, democratize wellness, and can empower individuals to take control of their own health and well-being, and ultimately create a healthier society as a whole.

In order to help address the global health and well-being crisis, Welltech Ventures have taken an extra step to attend, learn, and collaborate within the space. To kick off May, our partners, Amir Alroy, Galit Horovitz, and Steven Berelowitz attended the Wellness Real Estate & Communities Symposium hosted by the Global Wellness Institute. The event gave us an insight into the growing market and trends of wellness real estate development and investment space! Additionally, we attended the 1st Sheba Longevity Conference as sponsors of the event! The event brought captivating discussions and presentations on breakthrough developments in the field of longevity to the forefront of conversation. We are so grateful to be attendees at such informative and amazing events!

Mental health is on the rise... The mental health market was valued at $383.31 million¹ in 2020 and continuing to grow by a CAGR of 3.5%² . It is estimated that more than one in five U.S. adults live with a mental illness. This explosion is a result of decreased stigma, increased technology, and expanding treatments. A few of our portfolio companies are tapping into this market in order to push treatment, prediction, and diagnosis in the right direction! Behavidence has created an AI-powered mobile app that monitors mental health conditions using secured and private digital behavior-based phenotyping. CalmiGo has created the first drug free patented device that provides immediate relief of anxiety, anxiety attacks, and stress, while Hedonia is addressing mild-to-moderate anxiety and depression through gamified therapeutic methods available on their mobile platform! We are very proud to be part of the process to de-stigmatize mental health and provide solutions to the growing problem!

The emergence of AI has proven to be extremely innovative and has great promise for every aspect of the world. The question is, how can we best use it for the overall wellbeing and effectiveness of our world? The answer: Adaptability. AI has the ability to transform almost every aspect of healthcare and health research, ranging from monitoring, diagnosis, clinical trials and health care delivery to health economics. AI has the potential to personalize healthcare monitoring, diagnosis and treatment for the individual in the community and at home.

For example, our portfolio company Antidote is leveraging AI technology to create a virtual-based HMO, that will provide uninsured Americans quality healthcare at 50% of the current cost. Additionally, Quris-AI is the first AI platform in the world able to predict which drug candidates will be clinically safe on humans. MDI Health has constructed a personalized medication management system to optimize personal medication regimens all powered by AI, while Behavidence's AI-powered mobile app monitors mental health conditions using digital behavior-based phenotyping. All of this to say, AI is exciting!!

On May 2nd, our partners, Galit Horovitz, Amir Alroy, and Steven Berelowitz attended the Wellness Real Estate & Communities Symposium. The event brought together top leaders in the sector to explore trends and research in "building well" for real estate development and investment. Notable speakers included Deepak Chopra, Rebecca P., Michael Norton, Susie Ellis, and Paul Scialla. The symposium was a fantastic opportunity to network with colleagues in the wellness industry, and we anticipate future events.

On May 10-11th, we attended the 1st Sheba Longevity Conference as sponsors to the event. The conference brought together all relevant stakeholders in the multidisciplinary field of longevity medicine, providing a forum for showcasing outstanding research and scientific breakthroughs. Notable speakers included Professor Tzipi Strauss, Professor Evelyne Yehudit Bischof, Nir Barzilai, and many more. The conference was an incredible chance to contribute, learn, and exchange knowledge with esteemed speakers and attendees.
