Wendy Rule! New Shirts & Statues | Issue #92
Almost Spring Greetings!

There's only a few days left to pre-order our Visionary T-Shirts. After next Sunday, only a few of the styles will be available, and only until they sell out. Stop in the store or order online! We are moving ahead with our expansion plans, we've done an extensive site search for a possible new location, and we think we have a winner, just down the block from our current location. We'll let you in on all the details once we have a lease. Here are some of the key advantages to moving to this new space:
  1. More room for continued growth
  2. We will still have two dedicated rooms for Readings and/or Reiki
  3. Larger Classroom Space
  4. No steps - all on one level
  5. Central Air Conditioning
  6. Year-round Indoor labyrinth
  7. Great neighbors
But we aren't delaying moving forward with getting in some great things in our current location. In addition to the Visionary T-Shirt Pre-sale, we've gotten in a couple of cool new t-shirts. We have gorgeous new statues of Odin and Tyr, and a terrific lineup of classes. Click here to view all of our classes

We've also got some terrific events lined up for September, including starting the month off with author and musician Kenny Klein. We're also thrilled to be able to bring Wendy Rule back to town, and she will be joined by Kari Tauring for a terrific concert at Patrick's Cabaret. More details on both of those events in our September Event Preview below.

with Psychic and Medium Christine Schroeder

Did you know that everyone is psychic? Everyone is born with the sixth-sense, those gut-instincts that help direct us throughout our lives. We often experience these as dj vu, images, inspired knowledge, or just a feeling which won't go away, but we all have these experiences. But did you know you can turn up your sensitivity when you need more information to guide you?

Think of your intuition as a muscle that can be flexed and further developed. Join psychic reader Chris Schroeder, as she introduces tools & techniques for discovering and tapping into your psychic intuition (sort of your Personal Psychic Fitness Trainer).

Course Benefits:
  • Find your personal reading style
  • Learn how read for others
  • Gain clarity about yourself, relationships, and events

New Norse Statues
Odin & Tyr

Odin on his throne
Norse God Odin
Chief god of Norse Mythology, Odin is the Alfather. He is considered a principal member of the sir (Norse Pantheon) and is associated with wisdom, war, battle, and death, and also magic, poetry, prophecy, victory, and the hunt.

This detailed, hand-tinted, cold cast bronze statue of Odin features a number of magical artifacts associated with him: the spear Gungnir, which never misses its target; the two ravens Huginn and Muninn (Thought and Memory), who fly around Earth daily and report the happenings of the world to Odin in Valhalla at night; a pair of wolves named Geri and Freki, to whom he gives his food in Valhalla since he consumes nothing but mead or wine. From his throne, Hlidskjalf (located in Valaskjalf), Odin could see everything that occurred in the universe. Click here for larger image of Odin Statue

Tyr Battling Fenrir Statue
Tyr Battling Fenrir Statue
Tyr is the God of War, Courage and Law. He's best known for losing his right hand to the Fenerous Wolf. The wrist joint even now in Scandinavia is referred to as the "wolf joint." On the back of his chair, called a Kubbestol and traditionally carved from a single log, is a line from an Icelandic rune poem: "Tyr God with one hand and leavings of the wolf and the prince of temples."

This incredibly detailed cold cast bronze statue shows the moment when Tyr upholds is honor and sacrifices his hand. Click here for larger image of Tyr Statue

We're also planning a fall concert with Wendy Rule and Kari Tauring. This is too big for our store, and will be held at Patrick's Cabaret on the evening of Sunday September 12th. We'll have all the details about that in our next newsletter . . . Wendy's tour is getting held up by a delay getting her US Visa, and she had to cancel a couple of dates, but she's expecting it to come through at the end of this month. Until then, here's a note from Wendy:

"Still waiting to fly off to the USA as soon as my visa comes through. Right now is the time that I need all the positive magic I can gather, as the consulate has received my application and are processing it right now. Any magic or visualizations would be very welcome."~Wendy Rule

Ticket sales for both events will be announced first on Facebook and Twitter, and then in our newsletter.

Wheel of the Year
August 1st

Lughnasadh
is a Gaelic holiday traditionally associated with the first of August. It is also known as Lammas (the Christianized version of this feasting holiday.)

Lughnasadh or Lammas is also the name used for one of the eight "sabbats" in the Wiccan Wheel of the Year. It is the first of the three autumn harvestfestivals, the other two being the Autumn equinox (also called Mabon by Wiccans) and Samhain. It is seen as one of the two most auspicious times for handfasting, the other being at Beltane.

In Celtic Reconstructionism (CR), L Lnasa is seen as a time to give thanks to the spirits and deities for the beginning of the harvest season, and to propitiate them with offerings and prayers to not harm the still-ripening crops. The god Lugh is honored by many at this time, as he is a deity of storms and lightning, especially the storms of late summer. Gentle rain on the day of the festival is seen as his presence and his bestowing of blessings. Many CRs also honor the goddess Tailtiu on this day, and may seek to keep the Cailleachan ("Storm Hags") from damaging the crops, much in the way appeals are made to Lugh.
